This page is a short introduction about myself and my life’s journey to let you know my history and how I ended up in Czech Republic.

I was born in St.Paul, Minnesota but was raised in my mother’s hometown of New Carlisle, Ohio. The town of New Carlisle is a very small and isolated place and I knew at a young age that my life had to have some adventure to it.

Military Service

After graduating high school, I joined the Ohio Air National Guard. I had always been interested in electronics, so I became an avionics specialist and spent six years in service. It was peace time when I joined, and my primary reason for joining the military was to get government aid to help fund my education.

At the end of my term, the U.S began operation Desert Storm. I was lucky enough to have ended my service before my unit was activated and sent to Saudi Arabia.

Music

I was drawn to music at a young age, and began singing in school choir and got my first guitar at the age of 10.

I was in a band in high school that played covers of bands like U2 and The Cars. Then, in the early 90’s, I formed a band with a talented songwriter who was my childhood friend and a few college buddies. Over the years, we had established a decent following in Ohio and got international distribution for our only CD release. We had a short tour of a few cities in the eastern states and broke up soon after. It was a great experience, and I still continue to play in bands and study music for myself.

Motorcycles

While working at Ohio State University, I had a part time job working at a Japanese motorcycle salvage and repair shop called The Rice Paddy. I love the old 60’s and 70’s models that were imported to America and this place allowed you to explore the zen of motorcycle maintenance and develop your skills. I miss it dearly and some of my best friends to this day were made here.

Guitar Building

Since my early days of playing music, I have had a special place in my heart for the repair and building of musical instruments.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to study with a few master luthiers in America and Spain. I started a repair shop in Prague in 2012 and have been repairing and continuing to learn about guitar building in the hopes of someday building bespoke guitars, basses and amplifiers for musicians.

It is my passion and a wonderful outlet for my creativity.
